Biography

Working on some of the biggest titles in film and television, Steve Boyle has built a reputation for world-class standards in Special FX Production. With over 30 years' experience, Steve's ability to craft iconic visual characters with expert precision is second to none. Steve has worked on a number of major films including Daybreakers, The Matrix Trilogy, King Kong, The Hobbit Trilogy, Love and Monsters and most recently, The Portable Door with The Jim Henson Company.

Steve is AACTA Award nominated for his work on Winchester and won several Production Design Guild Awards for medical drama, Harrow. Steve's passion for SFX led him to build Formation Effects, a full service practical and visual effects company with a diverse team of in demand creatives and technicians. Outside of the SFX world, Steve is an established writer and director working on shorts, Mullet Gut, Avulsion and feature length projects like Born Savage, The Demon Disorder and more.

With established connections with the industry's most talented artists and a natural gift for storytelling, Steve has continued to grow his production slate by creating Formation Pictures, a Brisbane-based production company.
