Biography

Samuel Wainer was born on December 19, 1910 in Bessarabia, Russian Empire. He was a writer, known for Moleque Tião (1943) and Abertura (1979). He was married to Danuza Leão. He died on September 2, 1980 in São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil.

His son Samuel Wainer Filho (1955-1984) was also a journalist, who worked in newspapers such as Última Hora and Jornal do Brasil. In the early 1980's he and Luiz Antônio Mello created the Maldita project on Fluminense FM radio, playing rock music, at the time a previous traditional popular music and news broadcast station. Sadly, while making the coverage of an air crash in Rio de Janeiro, he was killed in an automobile accident, in 1984.
