Eduard Azaryan
Eduard Azaryan is a Soviet gymnast, Olympic champion (1980), World Championship medalist (1978), four-time USSR champion.
Eduard Azaryan began practicing gymnastics in early childhood under the guidance of his father, three-time Olympic champion Albert Azaryan. In 1978, Eduard Azaryan became the USSR champion in team all-around and joined the USSR national team. In the same year, he became the bronze medalist of the World Cup in the individual all-around and the silver medalist of the World Championship in the team competition. In 1980, at the Olympic Games in Moscow, Azaryan, as part of the USSR national team, won the title of Olympic champion in the team championship. Since 1992 he has lived in the USA. He is engaged in coaching activities at the gymnastics center he created in Aliso Viejo (California).
