Barba emigrated to Norway in 1954 and later studied theater in Poland
with Jerzy Grotowski. He created and served as Director of the Odin
Teatret in Oslo, Norway, in 1964, but moved it to Denmark 2 years
later. In 1979 Barba founded the International School of Theatre
Anthropology.
