John Herzog
John Herzog's professional career began while he was still a student at Hollywood High School. His first paying gig ($4 a performance) was as a supernumerary (an extra) for the world-renowned Old Vic Company from England in Romeo and Juliet at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. He pretended to play a recorder and was onstage alone for a full thirty seconds before the stars insisted on getting on with the rest of the play. John's roles since that time have included such motion picture and television roles as the films _Rogues (2002)_ and Human Highway and the television programs Making a Living, Open All Night, The Powers of Mathew Star as well as the role of Asa's wisecracking pilot Dave Adler on One Life to Live. His main performances as an actor have been on the stage. He appeared as Claude, one of the two leads in the rock musical Hair for producer Michael Butler. John's performed in over forty other productions across the country in roles as diverse as Sky Masterson in Guy's and Doll's, Petruchio in Taming of the Shrew, Doc Delaney in Come Back Little Sheba, Macheath in Threepenny Opera, George in Same Time Next Year, Ben Stark in Rocket to the Moon, Laertes in Hamlet and Doc Porter in Crimes of the Heart. He's participated in over one hundred staged readings over the past three decades. The theaters he has played include: The Biltmore in New York City; Portland Stage Company; Delaware Theatre Company; Indiana Repertory Company; Los Angeles Theater Works Festival, and his home theater-The Los Angeles Repertory Company. John is not only one of their leading actors, but managing director as well.
