Julie McGlone
Julie McGlone is a senior coordinating producer in ESPN production. She oversees both the SportsCenter Enhancement Unit (SCEU), which creates compelling elements that drive SportsCenter content initiatives, and the Creative Content Unit (CCU), which is responsible for the company's largest creative projects for marquee live sporting events across all platforms. A veteran of more than 20 years in creative production, McGlone joined ESPN in 2000 and is one of the company's top female production leaders.

McGlone was promoted to her current position in May 2019, adding responsibility of the SCEU to her existing oversight role of the CCU. She is widely respected for her exceptional creative leadership as demonstrated by the wonderful storytelling elements she and her team have developed for key events, in addition to consistently delivering high-end, creative content.

McGlone has led the creative presentation and branding for multiple Emmy award-winning events on ESPN and ABC, including the FIFA World Cup (2010, 2014), Women's FIFA World Cup, College Football Playoff, Indy 500, Grand Slam Tennis, The Masters, Little League World Series, MLB, Monday Night Football, NFL Draft, NBA Playoffs and Finals, X Games and more.

Since 2005, McGlone has brought creative storytelling and fresh, new approaches to enhance coverage of ESPN's presentation of sports events. Her oversight includes day-to-day and big-event projects for the CCU, a dynamic team of creative producers, writers and designers. Projects range from small single-producer initiatives to teams of more than 75 people spread over several continents supporting a large global event.

In addition to creating content, McGlone has been a driving force behind ESPN's many post-production and technical innovations by developing greater remote edit integration for live events and ever-changing digital production workflows. Her collaborative and creative approach has been applauded both within ESPN and by partners outside the company.

McGlone originally joined ESPN in 2000 as an action sports specialty content producer on the X Games production team, telling creative stories on all major X Games events and ancillary properties. The productions under her purvey included the Emmy award-winning X Games Wide World of Sports on ABC and X Games All Access, a bi-monthly magazine show.

In February 2018, McGlone was named Chairperson of the ESPY Week Committee benefiting The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Her leadership helped ESPN achieve a record donation year for V Foundation efforts with more than $10 million raised in 2018. McGlone and the ESPY Week Committee are now targeting $100 million in total donations from ESPN employees and fans for The V Foundation.

McGlone began her career in 1991 at WJBK (CBS) in Detroit, Mich., as a local sports and entertainment promotion producer. From 1993-2000, she lived in Vail, Colorado, working as field producer, editor, and action sports film producer.

A native of Royal Oak, Mich., a suburb of Detroit, McGlone received a bachelor of arts in Communications from Oakland University. Her many production accolades include six National Sports Emmy Awards (X Games, FIFA World Cup and College Football), six Clio Sports Awards, 29 New York Festival Awards, two SVG College Sports Media Awards, and four NAMIC Awards.

McGlone lives in Avon, Conn., with her husband, Scott, and their two children, Tommy (10) and Katie (7), and their black lab, Murphy.
