Although interested in acting and performing, his introduction to the field came by pure luck. Asked by one of his friends to accompany him to a TV commercial he was supposed to film, Ahmed found himself getting chosen by the director ahead of the friend he was accompanying! Although it may have caused friction in the friendship, it was a blessing in disguise for Ahmed Haroun. The request for Ahmed became more and more frequent and soon he was appearing in numerous TV commercials, as well as music videos. However, his main passion was for acting and he eagerly awaited a chance to prove his worth. That chance came in 2002 when he was asked to perform in the film "Sahar el Layaly" Upon its release in the summer of 2002, the film became an instant hit and was a huge success at the box office. Ahmed's performance drew good reviews. His rugged, handsome looks made him an overnight heartthrob. Although he also performed in acclaimed director Youssef Shahine"s excerpt in the film "September 11th" later that year, his role in "Sahar El Layaly" had the bigger impact on his career. His first leading role was in the movie "farah" in 2004, where he played the role of the son of a prominent businessman. Ahmed has just finished a movie costarring with singers Fares and Edward, in a light comedy to be released by the end of 2004.
