  • Bruce Lafayette Holcomb began his career studying general design at San Jose State University in San Jose California, USA. Upon graduating from the advanced design program in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design and a minor in graphic design, Bruce had the opportunity to work in the field for two of the industry's most influential designers, Gray Holland of Alchemy Labs in SF (1995-1997) and Thomas Meyerhoffer from Apple (1997-1998) . The invaluable experience gained from working with these two designers inspired Bruce Holcomb to fulfill his lifelong to bring a successful product to market.

    Top Projects included eye wear and time pieces for Nike, concept modeling for design phases for X series BMW, goggle eye wear for Smith motocross, toy design for Oddzon, and conceptual shoe design "wearable controllers" for the game industry by Airwalk.

    During the time while working with Thomas Meyerhoffer Bruce was approached by a mutual friend from his work while at Alchemy to work at Industrial Light and Magic as a "hard surface" modeler for Episode 2 of the Star Wars franchise in 1999. He jumped at the chance and has worked in film at Industrial Light and Magic to current date as a Digital Asset Supervisor and Senior Modeler/Designer.

    Credits there include Star Wars Episodes 2-3, Rogue One, The Hulk, Pirates of the Caribbean 2-3, Iron Man 1-2, Avengers 1-4, Captain America 2-3, Star Trek 1-2. For a complete list please visit official IMDB filmography. He is currently supervising asset work on Avengers : Infinity War

    Bruce has also won 2 VES awards and 13 of his supervised films have been nominated for Academy Awards for Visual Effects.

    He was recently inducted in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2016 and is an active member.
