Streaming Stars, Then and Now

Pragati Deshmukh is an Indian producer, content curator, author, and storyteller with over two decades of experience in the media and entertainment industry. As of 2025, she is the Head of Content at Zee Studios, where she oversees a diverse slate of projects across genres and formats, including films and series. Her recent projects include Kaalidhar Laapata, The Broken News, and a forthcoming slate that includes Dhadak 2.

Over the years, Deshmukh has held creative and leadership roles at major networks such as Walt Disney India, Discovery, and BBC Studios India. She previously served in a senior content leadership position at ZEE5, where she played a key role in the development of seven original shows.

Early in her career, she worked as an Assistant Director on the Hindi feature film Barfi! (2012), which helped shape her storytelling sensibilities in visual media.

In addition to her work in film and streaming, she is a published author. She is also working on her second book, a thriller based on researched facts surrounding the illegal wildlife trade in India.

Outside her professional life, she enjoys travelling, cooking, and caring for animals.
