Biography

Laura Hillenbrand was born on May 15, 1967 in Fairfax, Virginia, USA. She is a writer and actress, known for Seabiscuit (2003), Unbroken (2014) and Unbroken: Path to Redemption (2018).

Won an Eclipse Award in 1998 for her American Heritage magazine article on Seabiscuit, entitled "Four Good Legs Between Us."

Suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and vertigo. Her illnesses forced her to drop out of Kenyon College (Gambier, Ohio).

Has written for the New York Times and the Washington Post.

Won the National Magazine Award in 2004.
