Travis Frick is a writer and director from Mission Hills, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City. He graduated from Vassar College with a degree in Italian and received an MFA from the USC, School of Cinematic Arts where he edited sound on the short "Among Others" that played at the Sundance Film Festival.
In Kansas City, Travis edited news stories for KMBC-TV Channel 9, an ABC affiliate, the number one local news source during that time. In NYC, he edited "Born in the USA: Muslim Americans" that played on the NJ PBS station.
In 2004, he raised money to make a feature "Kosmos" but unfortunately, he hired the Grim Reaper to produce it and considers himself lucky to have survived the experience. Escaping into education, he taught English in public high schools and directed an award winning short, "Damn Bro", co-written with a former student about their experiences in a school in Brownsville, Brooklyn.
During the pandemic, he made an award-winning short with his son, "Vampires Don’t Dance", that blended comedy, action, and horror. Since USC, Travis has written personal stories from his own experience in the psychological thriller, sometimes horror, genre, typically with a perverse, comedic tone. In 2025, he collaborated with former acting students of Pamela Scott by writing-producing an occult mystery, "7734 Sunset Place".
