Eddie Karanja is a British actor best known for his work in television and film. In 2025, Karanja starred as Young Washington "Wash" Black in Hulu's limited series Washington Black, based on Esi Edugyan's award-winning novel. His performance as the younger version of Wash was praised across the board. The Wall Street Journal noted that "the young Eddie Karanja... hits precisely the right notes as he's confronted by hostile elements, intimidating men and an unpromising future." Gazettely described his work, alongside Ernest Kingsley Jr., as "exceptional and cohesive," while WhatToWatch.com declared that "Eddie Karanja and Ernest Kingsley Jr.... are the true stars of Washington Black."
