- Jonas Vogler grew up near Lake Constance, Germany, and has been playing and writing music from an early age. After studying music and social sciences in Hamburg, Jonas earned a master’s degree in jazz composition from the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, followed by a postgraduate diploma in film scoring from the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
He has a strong interest in combining uncommon, sometimes quirky sounds with the traditional textures of established ensembles like orchestras, string quartets and also the human voice. His music is influenced by the sounds of electronic music, the harmonic language of jazz, as well as the dramatic arcs of orchestral music.
In recent years, Jonas has written music for numerous films, documentaries, commercials, and games, many of which have won awards in Europe and internationally. Various films featuring his scores have been aired on national television and have been released in cinemas across Germany.
Recent projects include Späti, a TV show for the German broadcaster ZDF, as well as Babystar, a feature-length fiction film, which premiered at TIFF 50 in Toronto, and for which he won the Special Mention for Music at the 2026 Music & Cinema International Film Festival in Marseille.
