- My [maternal] grandmother sang beautifully, you know. She loved mariachi [music], she would make parties and I've been hearing mariachi [music] since I was a baby, so it's really something that is a part of me, it's in my feelings.

But, finally, I discovered that I have a great necessity to express myself and I decided that ranchera music is what will allow me to express myself and communicate with others.

- I think you are an actress when you sing. And of course, I like being a singer more than being an actress. Being a singer, I am both. Also, the responsibility of performing a song before an audience is mine. That's where I don't have to work with other actors; that's where I'm saying what I feel or how I feel my song.
