- After retiring from a career in accountancy in the early 1970s, she relaunched herself as a colour healing therapist. In 1974 she established The Maitreya School of Healing together with Joseph Leech. Her clients later included singer-songwriter Kate Bush.
- An associate of singer-songwriter Kate Bush, who wrote a song inspired by her, "Lily". Bush had Cornford recite a mantra for the song, which is included in her 1993 album The Red Shoes.
