Biography

Joey Palestina is an actor, playwright, poet, and musician based in Montclair, New Jersey. He is best known for portraying Sgt. Mikey Fries in HBO's We Own This City and has also appeared in television series including FBI, Elsbeth, Blue Bloods, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story.

A member of LAByrinth Theater Company and the Playwright Directors Unit at The Actors Studio in New York, Joey has had three original plays selected for LAB's Barn Series Readings: WAVE_HEAD (2021), Fruitopium (2024), and A Mental Hard Drive (2025). His writing explores intimacy, memory, technology, and the emotional toll of the systems we live within. He has also written for The 24 Hour Plays, created the audio play Guy Donalson for The Lovely Dark podcast, co-created the animated series Mental Fläuse, and fronts the music project Paultra Violet. He holds a BFA in Acting and an MA in Counseling from Montclair State University.
