- Mahdi Barzoki is an Iranian filmmaker.
He holds a degree in Professional Film Directing from the University of Culture and Art in Tehran and is also a graduate of the Iranian Youth Cinema Society (IYCS). He is a member of the Directors Guild of the Iranian House of Cinema, the Iranian Short Film Association (ISFA), and the Iranian Documentary Filmmakers Association. He is also a university lecturer and an instructor at the Iranian Youth Cinema Society.
Barzoki has studied under prominent Iranian filmmakers and screenwriters, including Asghar Farhadi, Mehrdad Oskouei, Shahram Mokri, and Farhad Tohidi.
Throughout his career, he has received several awards at major national and international film festivals. Among his notable achievements are the Best Director Award at the 36th Tehran International Short Film Festival for his film Aziz, as well as the Special Jury Prize at the 27th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) in South Korea for his film Kafar.
Barzoki has also served as a member of the selection committee for the 37th Tehran International Short Film Festival, a member of the selection committee for the first Iranian Youth Filmmaking Olympiad, a jury member for the screenplay competition at the 59th Regional Youth Cinema Festival, and a member of the Production and Pitching Council of the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, Isfahan Province. He has also worked as a mentor for the fifth edition of the Iranian Youth Filmmaking Olympiad.
