Anna (Anya) Gerasimova was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan-once a vital center of Ancient Persia. Her early childhood unfolded among the exotic spices, vivid silks, and intricate patterns of the East. Growing up near Samarkand, she found herself surrounded by the very places described in One Thousand and One Nights, where Scheherazade's world is real. Those early impressions planted the seeds of Anna's lifelong fascination with fantasy storytelling. Later, her journey brought her to Saint Petersburg-Russia's cultural capital-where she was surrounded by rich heritage, grand architecture, and the legacy of world-renowned artists like Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov. It was here that her love for music expanded, and where one composition in particular-Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade-resonated almost like a calling. There, in Saint-Petersburg, Anna's passion for learning was strengthened through a deep and inspiring education. A top student with a gift for mathematics, acting, and languages, she went on to earn two university degrees: one in world economics, the other in linguistics. Though her official path was lined with strict logic, her heart was always creating-writing stories and screenplays that spoke of fantasy worlds. Anna pursued a career as a linguist, teaching several languages and participating in international negotiations. She eventually became the director of a language school, where she continued to blend communication, culture, and education in her daily work. Still, her creative spirit kept calling. After marrying American artist Arthur Herring, the couple worked together on artistic projects in St. Petersburg before deciding to make a bold leap across continents. Montana, with its untamed beauty, became their new home, a place where the spirit of nature breathes freely. There, Anna left behind a successful career to follow a wilder dream. From one of her early screenplays, The Breath of Life, an ambitious animated film began to take shape-one that would grow into a trilogy, winning awards across the world. Today, Anna is the writer and director of a high-fantasy trilogy and also the composer behind its music. She draws creative energy from all three homes of her life: the ancient soul of Persia, the artistic grandeur of Russia, and the raw freedom of Montana. Each chapter of her life adds a note to the melody she shares with the world-grounded in truth, lit by wonder, and always carried forward by inspiration.
