Biography

Tom Capone was born on January 1, 1966 in Brasília, Distrito Federal, Brazil. He was a director, known for Viva São João! (2002), Casseta & Planeta: A Taça do Mundo é Nossa (2003) and Para Caymmi Ao Vivo: De Nana Dori E Danilo (2004). He died on September 2, 2004 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Was killed in a motorcycle crash just hours after the Latin Grammy awards were broadcast on television. He was present for several nominations for his production of Maria Rita's award-winning debut album.

He had two other children from a previous marriage.

He was nominated in five categories at the 2004 Latin Grammy awards, including producer of the year and album of the year.

He produced award-winning albums for Brazilian singer Maria Rita and the rock band Skank. Most recently, he produced three tracks for Spanish-language trio Bacilos for its new album, due Sept. 28, 2004.

He began his career as a guitarist in 1980s band Peter Perfeito, before opening his own studio and turning to producing. He worked with artists such as Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento, Raimundos and Barão Vermelho and had recently produced three tracks for Spanish-language group Bacilos' new album.
