Erika Flores(VII)
- Composer
Erika Flores is a Los Angeles-based film composer whose passion lies in elevating stories through emotionally driven music. Before transitioning into composing, she spent over 6 years working behind the scenes in Hollywood production, contributing to network television and studio projects, including work with Disney. Her experience on both sides of the filmmaking process gives her a deep appreciation for the collaborative relationship between directors, producers, and composers.
Drawing from a classical foundation in flute and piano performance, Erika combines traditional musicianship with contemporary production techniques to create scores that support character, emotion, and narrative. She has composed music for independent films, commercials, and narrative audio dramas, and is particularly drawn to stories that explore the human experience.
Committed to continual growth, Erika has expanded her craft through scholarship-supported studies in music production and film scoring at UCLA Extension, IO Music Academy, and the CSU Summer Arts Screen Scoring Intensive, where she studied screen scoring, orchestration, conducting, and notation with accomplished composers Steve & Julie Bernstein, Michael Barry, Chanda Dancy, and David Spear.
Whether collaborating on intimate independent films or larger productions, Erika values open communication, curiosity, and serving the director's vision. She believes the strongest scores are those that become an extension of the story itself, music that audiences feel as much as they hear.
