Biography

Born in Toulouse, France, Jean-Jerome Loubet dit Gajol is a French screenwriter, novelist, and multidisciplinary artist whose work blends storytelling, visual arts, and game design. Jean-Jerome works as a freelance author and board game designer. His passion for crafting immersive worlds and compelling characters has led him to develop original projects across literature, television, and interactive media.

Jean-Jerome has been actively collaborating with Nicolas Polixene and his brother, Sylvain Loubet dit Gajol, on a variety of creative endeavors, including television series, short films, and feature films. Their dynamic trio brings together a rich mix of perspectives and talents, which led Jean-Jerome Loubet to co-write the horror-comedy short film "Cut Me If You Can." The film serves as a contemporary tribute to the slasher genre of the 1980s and 1990s and received critical acclaim with close to 50 selections in prestigious or Oscar-qualifying film festivals, including Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival, SCAD, Woodstock Film Festival, UrbanWorld, Dakar Courts, Moscow International Film Festival, Jakarta Film Week, NFMLA and Macabro. "Cut Me If You Can" won multiple awards such as the Audience Award & Jury Prize at Fenetres sur Courts, an Honorable Mention at Fantaspoa, and the Jury Prize at Paris in the Dark.

Thanks to its market screenings at the Cannes Short Film Corner and the European Film Market at Berlinale, along with the film's widespread acclaim and numerous accolades, "Cut Me If You Can" has garnered strong industry interest and secured financing for a feature-length adaptation. Jean-Jerome Loubet is one of the screenwriters on the full-length version.

In 2023, Jean-Jerome co-wrote "Au-delà", a striking short film shot in Martinique. The film was developed in response to a project proposal call and secured a EUR30,000 grant from the Martinique and Guadeloupe Film Commission. After only a few months on the festival circuit, it just won the Revelation Prize, the highest honor at the Nouveaux Regards Film Festival, accompanied by a EUR10,000 award. The film is now receiving distribution and marketing support through CANAL+ CARAÏBES.

In 2024, thanks to the strength and quality of their collaboration, Jean-Jerome Loubet, Sylvain Loubet and Nicolas Polixene signed their first major contract with the César-winning production company BIEN OU BIEN Productions and its producer Zangro for whom they just penned the feature film "Adhaine" is currently in the financing stage.

In addition to his screenwriting efforts, Jean-Jerome is also the founder of a successful creative company specializing in the development of original concepts for video games and board games. Blending narrative innovation with engaging gameplay, his studio has carved out a unique space at the intersection of storytelling and interactive entertainment.
