- Arne Jacobsen was born on February 11, 1902 in Denmark. He died on March 24, 1971 in Denmark.
- Designed the "Ant" chair that achieved iconic status due to its inadvertent showcasing by photographer Lewis Morley. Morley posed naked call girl Christine Keeler straddling the chair (backrest to fore) in his London studio in 1963. Such was the impact of the image, the pose was even lampooned by Homer Simpson and most recently in an Oliver Sweeney shoes print advertisement
