Biography

Lois Wyse was born on October 30, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. She was a writer, known for The Million Dollar Face (1981), Gypsy (1965) and Betty Hughes and Friends (1969). She was married to Lee Guber, Marc A Wyse and Harvey "Bud" Meyerhoff. She died on July 6, 2007 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA.

Was a former advertising executive. Created the memorable advertising classic line "With a name like Smucker's, it has to be good," used still to this day by the J. M. Smucker Company, a leading U.S. manufacturer of peanut butter, jellies and fruit jams.

Her husband, Lee Guber, was formerly married to television reporter Barbara Walters.

She was responsible for convincing a retail chain called "Bed & Bath" to change its name to "Bed, Bath & Beyond." That chain now is a leading U.S. retailer of housewares.

On mothering: A mother becomes a true grandmother the day she stops noticing the terrible things her children do because she is so enchanted with the wonderful things her grandchildren do.

On experience: Age becomes reality when you hear someone refer to "that attractive young woman standing next to the woman in the green dress," and you find out that you're the one in the green dress.
