Jay A. Gounder

Jay A Gounder is an aspiring Actor and producer from Cape Town, South Africa. Brought up on the East coast of South Africa, Jay was drawn to the untouched authenticity of Durban's rich culture and diversification, leading him into the world of Theatre and arts. Trained in Meisner, Strasburg and Stella Adler, Jay found himself drawn to the realism and satirical theme plays that approached life differently. In 2008, Jay moved to Pretoria, where in 2010, Jay got experience behind the scenes of TV, film sets, studios and locations, eventually aiding fellow filmmaker friends in Film and TV with projects learning screenwriting, acting and editing along the way. After making the decision to move away from performance until 2020, where he debuted in the annual 48 Hour Film Project, representing Johannesburg with the Pure Kino Productions. While nominated for best Actor and and best Ensemble Acting, Pure Kino Productions went on to win the event that year. In 2025, Jay decided to leave the corporate life and started Agenic Ally Productions.
