Bernard Maris was born on 23 September 1946 in Toulouse, France. He was married to Sylvie Genevoix. He died on 7 January 2015 in Paris, Ile-de-France, France.
Doctor of economy of Toulouse university and university professor , he was a columnist on french public radio 'France-Inter' and wrote a column on the economy in 'Charlie Hebdo'. He was killed with his colleagues by a terrorist attack.
