- Johan Melin has been making films for more than two decades, he debuted with his first feature "Smalltown" in 2003. The film was a depiction of growing up in a small town in Herrljunga, Sweden. He attended the National Film School of Denmark and graduated with the film "Steppenwolves" that further digs into how we as humans relate to one another when all the illusions are gone. He made his way into the European Film Scene with The Cph Trilogy and the film "Preludium" shot in one single take. It took audiences with storm, was followed up by the mysterious "Profetia" and still remains a captivating portrait of being here and now. After another trilogy called My Hood and writing films and TV series in Hollywood, Scandinavia and Europe he is back in the smalltown that started everything. The Herrljunga Trilogy - where the first film "Consumage" will premiere in the fall of 2026. Melin is also an accomplished writer who published seven novels and two music albums. His production company Pyratid is a gemstone in the shoe of the film business.
