- František Němec was born on November 20, 1932 in Hodonín, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]. He was a cinematographer, known for Jana Eyrová (1972), Malá Dorritka (1967) and Slané pohádky (1983). He died on August 31, 2025.
- Member of the Association of Czech Cinematographers (ACK) and the Film and Television Union (FITES).
- Studied at the Department of Film and Television Image at FAMU in Prague.
- In 2013, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Film for Children and Youth Festival in Zlín, and in 2017, at the proposal of the ACK, he received the DILIA Lifetime Achievement Award.
- After completing his studies in 1959, he joined Czechoslovak Television as a cameraman.
