Irma Thomas was born on February 18, 1941 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, USA. She is an actress, known for Double Jeopardy (1999), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) and Down by Law (1986). She has been married to Emile Jackson since 1976. She was previously married to Andrew Thomas.

Inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2007.

Inducted into the Bluess Hall of Fame in 2009.
