Biography

Susan was born in Manhattan, lived in the South Bronx until she was 3 and then moved to Brighton Beach, Brooklyn with her parents and sister- Laura. She attended Abraham Lincoln High School, Brooklyn College, Columbia University and got her masters in Social Work at Hunter College School of Social Work.

In 1972 she created a youth program which eventually evolved into the international known and award winning teen theater group FACES. She works there still teaching acting to teens and directing their original work, taking time off to do her own acting. She was encouraged by the teens in her group to pursue acting herself and has had a great time doing it.

She raised a son, almost entirely on her own and he is now married and doing film editing (although he's as handsome as any movie star). She is so proud of her son and family and the kids from FACES for all of their accomplishments whether in the entertainment industry or not. She feels privileged to have been able to be involved with so many lives and is aware she has been equally affected by the young people as they are by her.

She hopes to continue acting which gives her so much pleasure and joy and to use acting as a way of getting crucial information out to young people through FACES. It feels great to know you could be making a difference. She hopes to be in many more films, TV shows and in plays. Cause "I have miles to go before I sleep."
