Michael Nguyen is an American actor based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He appeared as Agent Tran in the time-travel science fiction film Time Force (2026). Nguyen also appeared in the film Johnny Luong (2020), where he played a leading role.
In addition to acting, Nguyen is a sworn deputy sheriff in California. He completed the six-month sheriff’s academy and began his career working in the county jail before moving into assignments involving patrol and field operations. His professional background includes law enforcement, emergency services unit (ESU), and public safety operations. In addition to his law enforcement background, Nguyen has trained in boxing, Sanshou (Chinese kickboxing), and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, including foundational grappling and control techniques.
Nguyen previously served as a board member of the Sheriff’s Oversight Board, where he participated in the review of investigations involving law enforcement conduct and departmental accountability. He is also a former Sergeant in the California State Guard.
Nguyen has also worked as a security agent with Gavin de Becker & Associates and completed a rigorous 10-day live-in executive protection training academy. The immersive program required participants to live and train together in a boot-camp style environment, focusing on protective operations, threat assessment, and high-risk security scenarios. Instruction was provided by experienced protective professionals, including former agents of the United States Secret Service who later became instructors at Gavin de Becker & Associates.
Drawing from this real-world experience, Nguyen often portrays disciplined, tactical, and law-enforcement characters. He continues pursuing film and television roles while developing projects in the Bay Area.
