- Charlotte Wincott is a filmmaker originally from Virginia and is co-founder of Hollow Metropolis Films. She holds a Ph.D. from New York University and has written and directed multiple award-winning features and shorts. Charlotte's first feature film as a writer/director, The Issue with Elvis, is about a retired professor and runaway boy who meet in the mountains of West Virginia and become unlikely friends. The film starred her husband, veteran actor Jeff Wincott, and went on to win over a dozen awards across the US and Canada (it was distributed by Random Media.) Her work has been described by critics as reminiscent of Neorealism with "smart writing." Charlotte frequently incorporates social and scientific themes into her films, using family and locals to tell stories about relatable people.
