  • Terryl Gavre sold the rights to her life story which became the TV movie, "This Wife for Hire" starring Pam Dawber in the lead role depicting the Gavre character. She contributed to the script, worked as Technical Consultant and had a small walk on role as a dumb blonde. She opened her first restaurant, Cafe 222 in 1992 in San Diego, California. Cafe 222 became the set for an independent film titled "The Origin of Man." The film also used her residence as the protagonist's downtown loft in the movie. Gavre played the role of a snarky waitress in the film. She has gone on to open several more restaurants in San Diego; Market Restaurant and Bar, Bankers Hill Bar and Restaurant, Acme Southern Kitchen and Bake Sale Bakery. She is a well-know food writer in the area and does various morning television cooking segments lending her expertise. She Co-hosted "FoodNation" with Bobby Flay for the Food Network and has also appeared on "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" on the Food Network.
