Biography

Jacob Cherry is a Los Angeles-based actor originally from Sacramento, California. He attended UCLA's School of Theater, Film, and Television, with an emphasis in Acting and Playwriting. There, he met frequent collaborator Rachel Stubington, with whom he wrote, directed, and starred in "Copy, Credit, No Pay", a comedy about the student filmmaking experience. He continues to pursue coming-of-age dramas like "Watch", along with comedies like "Fly Me to the Earth" with Curry Barker.

In addition to acting in film, Jacob has been impressing audiences in the greater Los Angeles theater community. In 2023, he starred in Samuel D. Hunter's "A Bright New Boise" as Alex, and won the Desert Star Award for Best Supporting Actor. That same year, he played Michael Newsome in Greg Burdick's new play "Accommodation", which earned him a Robby Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Jacob is an experienced comedian in improvisation and sketch comedy. For three consecutive years, he participated in UCLA's Spring Sing as a member of sketch comedy team Company, and has since studied with UCB.
