  • Sándor M. Salas (Seville, Spain, 1983) is a filmmaker whose work lies between creative documentary, audiovisual essay and video art. His work explores the possibilities of the audiovisual language, from a sensibility attuned to the oneiric, to venture into areas that lie beyond ordinary perception.

    His films have been screened at international festivals including the Krakow Film Festival, Indy Shorts International Film Festival, Guadalajara International Film Festival, DocsMX, Alcine, Bogoshorts, Festival Alcances, Atlantidoc, Video Art Miden, and Proyector International Video Art Festival. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Best Annual Short Film award at the China International New Media Short Film Festival and the Rosario Valpuesta Special Award at the Seville European Film Festival. He has also been nominated for the Carmen Awards of the Andalusian Film Academy and the ASECAN Awards.

    His filmography includes the short films 'En mi piel' (2022), 'El desierto de Simón' (2021), 'Silencio sísmico' (2020), and 'Finis gloriæ mundi' (2017); the feature documentary 'Maese' (2020); the mid-length documentary 'Una experiencia musical de coexistencia' (2016); and the video art pieces 'De cara a la muerte' (2013), 'El hombre hueco' (2013), and 'Reminiscencias' (2008).

    He is currently developing new film projects while also working as a filmmaker and editor.
