Darren Jasper is an Australian actor based in Mount Barker, Western Australia. His first screen role was as the picture double and stand-in for Sam Neill's character "Colin" in Jeremy Sims' feature film Rams (2020).
Following his debut, Darren has performed in both extra and featured extra capacities across numerous Australian film and television productions. His feature credits include Jordan Prince-Wright's independent World War I drama Before Dawn (2024) and the 1970s outback feature Kid Snow (2024).
His television appearances include featured work in the children's adventure series Itch (2020), the Screentime true-crime miniseries The Claremont Murders (2023), the Stan adaptation Invisible Boys (2025), and the third season of The Twelve (2022).
Darren played "Sal" in the short film Twelve Years (2023), directed by Alex Lorian (Good for Nothing Blues, 2022; Subject 36, 2017). He has since been cast in supporting roles for several independent features, portraying "Wayne Flanagan" in Brad Newland's Remotely Famous (2025) and reprising the role in the sequel Outback Dale (2026). Darren also played a minor supporting role as "Mick 'Popeye'" - along with two additional inmate roles - in Adam Morris's upcoming film Frederickstown (2026), following Morris's acclaimed works Edward & Isabella (2022) and Frank & Frank (or The Valley and the Walrus) (2023).
2026 sees the completion of his first independent feature film The Transition of Z (2026) in collaboration as writers/directors with his wife Abi Jasper. Darren plays the lead role of "Darren 'Z' Riley".
Darren credits his initial inspiration to pursue acting to his on-set experience during Rams (2020), performing opposite Australian screen veteran Michael Caton and assisting director Jeremy Sims and cinematographer Steve Arnold with scene blocking.
He has trained in the Chubbuck Technique under actor and coach Anthony Brandon Wong, known for The Matrix Reloaded (2003), The Matrix Revolutions (2003), and the Binge miniseries The Twelve (2022). Darren has also trained under the guidance of actor and coach Myles Pollard.
