Junichi Yanagita(I)

I attended Tokyo Keizai University while supporting myself through various jobs. I lived in a laborers' boarding house and worked at construction sites, while also taking jobs in nightclubs to pay my tuition. It was there that I became fascinated by the energy and storytelling of night life world. I soon began working as a DJ, energizing customers and dancers, which eventually led me to performing as an MC on stage. During this time, I developed a theatrical performance based on the story of the Shimoda geisha Okichi and the U.S. diplomat Townsend Harris. In the show, I performed three characters in both English and Japanese, Merchant Hansuke, Geisha Okichi, and Lord Isa. Inspired by the films of Hollywood, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. In 2012, I landed a major guest role on the television series Touch starring Kiefer Sutherland, which became my biggest role at that time. I worked for Shogun 2 as a Buddhist monk in June 2026.I am pursuing my career again, honoring the promise I made to my wife to continue following my dream.
