Maria Gallo(IV)
- Actress
Maria Gallo is an Italian actress. Her latest film credit are "YOURI" (2025) by Sander Burger and "Stummfeld" (2026) by Tobias Schönenberg.
Maria started her artistic education as a singer and was trained in the Italian choir 'Coro da Camera Hebel', taking part - among others - to projects with Oscar-winner Ennio Morricone, Italian pop-singer Elisa and pianist Giovanni Allevi. At the age of 19, she was admitted at the drama school "Grock - Scuola di Teatro" in Milan, while also studying for her Bachelor in Arts and Theater at the University of Milan and at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.
After completing her studies, she joined the children's theatre "Il Trebbo" in Milan, whose positive impact on kids' lives drew her into teaching theater in English for young students, as well. Meanwhile, she worked on other projects in Italy and brought her own piece, "intermezzo" (2019), to the stage.
In 2025, she played the silent lead in the opera "Il viaggio a Reims" at Oper Leipzig, directed by Daisy Evans, for which she earned critical praise, with "LZV" critic Peter Korfmacher calling her "marvellous." The same year, she also made her debut in the German language, performing the title role in "Hexe Hillary geht in die Oper" by Peter Lund, directed by Franziska Schumacher.
Maria is fluent in Italian, English, as well as German, and she also speaks some French. Always eager to expand her cultural horizons, she has lived in Italy, Germany, Scotland and South Africa.
