Biography

Germaine Franco is a Grammy-winning, Academy Award, and Emmy nominated composer, music producer, and percussionist known for her innovative contributions to film, television, concerts, and interactive media. She is the first woman to score a Disney animated feature with Encanto. Franco has collaborated with many award winning directors including Carlos López Estrada, Niki Caro, Tina Gordon, James Bobin, Laura Terruso, Trish Sie, Adrian Molina, Lee Unkrich, Steve Hickner, Jared Bush, and Byron Howard.

Germaine's notable projects include Noche UFC: For Mexico, For All Time, Netflix's The Mother, Someone Great, Work It, Warner Brothers Tag, Disney's Coco, Paramount's Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Universal's Little, hit TV shows like Vida, and The Casagrandes, and the Kung Fu Panda immersive theme park attractions for Universal Studios in Hollywood and Beijing.

Germaine's work has been performed by The Boston Pops, The San Francisco Symphony, The National Symphony Orchestra, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, The Houston Symphony, The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, and The Taipei Symphony Orchestra. Franco has performed at The Oscars, The Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, The Wiltern, The Spoleto Festival, The Jeunesses Musicale International, with Sergio Mendes, Hans Zimmer, John Powell, Judith Hill, and Jack Black.

Her accolades include two Annie Awards, a Variety Artisan Award, a Billboard Music Award and the ASCAP Shirley Walker Award. She holds degrees from Rice University.
