Tomas Jönsson was born on April 12, 1960 in Falun, Dalarnas län, Sweden.

Selected by the New York Islanders (25th overall) in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft.

One of 3 NHL'ers who has won Sweden's national championship, the World Championship, an Olympic gold medal (1994) and the Stanley Cup.

Swedish Player of the Year (1995)

Won Stanley Cups with the New-York Islanders (1982, 1983)
