Christopher Scholar is a filmmaker and Grammy-nominated songwriter whose work bridges music and cinema to tell culturally resonant stories. Raised in Richmond, Virginia, Chris built his career directing music videos and branded films for artists such as Nelly, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, and Florida Georgia Line, as well as producing campaigns for Sony, Universal Music Group, AT&T, and Fender. His short-form work has been recognized with a SXSW Audience Award (2023) and a CMT Award nomination (2022).
In 2018, he co-founded BOOC, a creative studio based in Los Angeles and Atlanta, where he and producer Bevin Brown continue to develop narrative and documentary projects. Chris's parallel career as a songwriter-penning songs for Ariana Grande, 2 Chainz, and Chris Brown-informs a visual style rooted in rhythm, emotion, and the raw energy of music culture.
