She was born in Raahe, Finland, but at the age of 3, she and her parents Leena and Kari moved to Motala, Sweden. When she was almost 15 her little brother Jani Jokinen Tonteri was born.
After Sira graduated from high school, she moved to USA, and from there to many places in the world, like Holland, Gambia. After several years she returned to USA. She worked with commercials in Miami, Florida, and there she met her future husband, Danko Lisse. In 1995, when she still lived on Miami Beach her son Zaga was born.
From there they moved to New York and she attended Prat Institute and graduated with a bachelors degree in fine arts (especially in directing, filming and screen-writing).
When she graduated, she did move to Gothenburg, Sweden. That is also when Sira was the assistant director during the shoot of Hans och hennes (2001).
A few years later Sira moved back to Motala, Sweden, where she started her own company Zaga Film & Art.
