Paul Harb(I)

Paul Harb was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.

His adoptive mother Sally Nelson-Harb; a talented theater actress and school teacher, got a job as assistant to the head art director at CBS before becoming head of the research dept at Western Costume Company for many years.

Growing up his mother and father surrounded Paul with music, theater, and especially movies. As a child he would be able to run around the CBS lot taking in the production process and later would spend time in awe of all the amazing Hollywood history at Western Costume Company. These experiences had a large impact on him that would come into play later, however due to Paul having a clear natural talent with music his parents supported that endeavor allowing Paul to study for many years various instruments as well as vocal training.

Paul got accepted into a school of arts as well as the California Boys Choir. Paul ended up focusing on guitar and spent the majority of his teen years and early twenties playing in bands at local clubs and bars as well as attending Musicians Institute of Hollywood.

In his early 20's Paul would take a job at a local UHF TV station in Hollywood that would change the course of his life. Here he learned the ins and outs of live TV production as well as the post production process. Paul would gravitate towards camera operations and especially editing.

In a short amount of time Paul would parlay these skills and become a touring video director for concerts, an ENG camera op for live music and sporting events, and an editor producing content for many big named artists. He would also go on to direct some high profile projects music videos for Universal.

After years of being on the road and working on more short form projects Paul yearned to work on more long form narratives. He started offering his services to some editors and directors he knew who worked in features and in a very short amount of time got noticed by Sylvester Stallone who asked him to work on the movie Rocky Balboa. After the huge success of Balboa this would again change the course of his life and allow Paul to focus solely on editing for features and television. He would continue to work with Stallone for many years in addition to other great filmmakers.

Narrative editing has fulfilled Paul beyond his wildest dreams and over the course of his career so far he has worked on many features and TV shows including Rambo, The Expendables 1 and 3, Creed 1 and 2, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, Lovecraft Country, Channel Zero, and many others.
