Biography

Jay Graydon is known for Ghostbusters (1984), St. Elmo's Fire (1985) and One Hour Photo (2002).

Played the memorable guitar solo on "Never Be the Same" from Christopher Cross's Grammy Award-winning, self-titled album (1979).

Graydon was the Grammy-awarded soloist Donald Fagen and Walter Becker of Steely Dan chose for the legendary guitar solo on "Peg" from their 1977 album "Aja", after turning down 7-8 other guitar players. According to Graydon, he played a Gibson ES-335 guitar through a Dan Armstrong "Orange Squeezer" effects pedal into a Fender Deluxe amp.

Jay's legendary guitar solo on the Steely Dan track "Peg" was inspired by guitarist Amos Garrett's work on Maria Muldaur's "Midnight at the Oasis".
