Tony D. Head

Tony D. Head is an award nominated actor who returned to New York city in 2014 after being away from the business for over 20 years. Tony left the business to help take care of his special needs daughter Layla who required full time supervision. He took roles now and then while working a full time job all the time devoting his efforts to finding her a safe environment for independent living. In 2014 he and his ex accomplished that and it allowed him to give acting another try after a long hiatus.

Since then he was featured in the critically acclaimed off Broadway production of "Hounds of War" at the Abingdon theatre. Tony has appeared in many primetime series including the HBO hit series The Wire, and has appeared in HBO's The Corner , The Deuce ,Veep and more recently Law and Order Special Victims and FBI's Most Wanted. He currently can be seen as a recurring actor in the hit Tyler Perry show ZATIMA and the upcoming Starz series THREE WOMEN with Shailene Woodley, Dewanda Wise, Blair Underwood and Betty Gilpin. Tony will also be featured in the upcoming FX series AMERICAN SPORTS STORY. On the film side Tony was featured in JOKER starring Joaquin Phoenix, LAZY SUSAN, with Sean Hayes and Matthew Broderick, MAYA AND HER LOVER, A NEW YORK CHRISTMAS WEDDING and THEY TURNED US INTO KILLERS. Tony is the on-camera narrator and co-writer for "Transforming the Beautiful Game, The Clyde Best Story", which premiered in London on March 25th, 2026 and is on a promotional tour in all the World Cup cities in North America.

In 2020 Tony wrote and produced The Case which has won over 50 awards worldwide and is being developed for television. Tony lives in Manhattan NY.
