- In late 1993, The Weird recorded their first single, a somber tribute to River Phoenix, titled "Phoenix Blues." It was released as a 7" single on Earth Day 1994. The track was recorded by Earle Mankey.
The original line-up featured Bill Bateman of The Blasters on drums, Damon Jesse Kaye on upright bass, and Michael Tierney on guitar and vocals.
In 1996 The Weird began work recording the soundtrack to the feature film Evicted (1999). The full length album and additional film music were produced by Beachy and recorded at Rumble Kulture Studios in Hollywood.
Evicted Soundtrack credits Rick Ballard on guitar, Michael Tierney on vocals, Beachy on drums and percussion, and Dave Eckles on electric and upright bass. Special guest Chopper Franklin sat in on a few sessions, contributing lead guitar on Evicted Theme, Jalopy, and a few other tracks for the movie.
Evicted Movie and Soundtrack were completed in 1999 and released along with the film via Hollywood Video, Blockbuster Video, Netlfix, and retail outlets worldwide.
The latest release is an EP titled Evicted Theme Deluxe Edition (2025). The EP includes alternate and extended versions of the theme music for the film, along with bits of dialogue and extras.
