Biography

  • Alexander Shaw is a young British actor. He made his feature film debut at the age of seven, playing Young Conrad in Matthew Vaughn's blockbuster prequel, The King's Man (2021). He secured the high-profile role in the film’s dramatic opening sequence after being discovered at school by Vaughn and casting director Reg Poerscout-Edgerton. Alexander followed this by portraying Marie-Antoinette's son in the opening scene of Sir Ridley Scott's historical drama, Napoleon (2023).

On television, Alexander made his debut as a series co-lead, playing the quintessentially British Agent Ozzie in the long-running children's comedy franchise Odd Squad. Paired with Canadian Agent Orli, played by Asha Soetan, his performance formed part of a critically recognised series that received multiple Children’s Emmy and Kidscreen Award nominations, and won the 2026 Canadian Screen Award for Best Children’s or Youth Fiction Series.

Alexander moved further into mainstream comedy with his role as Manus, in Amandaland (2025), the BBC's BAFTA-winning spin-off to Motherland. Playing opposite Lucy Punch as his on-screen mother Amanda, and Dame Joanna Lumley as his grandmother Felicity, he became part of a series that also featured an Absolutely Fabulous reunion between Lumley and Jennifer Saunders in its Christmas special, followed by a third-season commission.

Alexander is also a distant relative of Nobel Prize-winning Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw, the author of Pygmalion, the work that inspired My Fair Lady. Acting runs in the immediate family with his older brother, Oliver Shaw also working as a young actor. Oliver is known for playing Rowan Wiley in the feature film The Critic (2023), and he is set to appear as the central character in the an upcoming BAFTA-winning series in 2026, The Jury: 14 and on Trial for Murder.
