  • Leo Ricciardi was born in July 23, 1967 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The youngest of three of a Spanish mother.

    Growing up he studied acting & staging with Augusto Fernandes, screen-writing & film direction at the INCAA school, screen-writing and photography at Casa de la Cultura.

    After working for years as photographer he started freelancing in films and advertising. The first short he wrote, produced and directed was El malentendido (2002), based in the play by Camus "The misunderstanding".

    While developing his writing and directing skills, he was a prolific producer, producing both shorts and features. Among which he is known for La sombra (2002), Próxima salida (2004) and El último confín (2006).

    In 2006 he took on the challenge of directing his first feature; Young blood (2006), which he also wrote and produced. Young Blood was exhibited in several festivals around the world. One of the festivals was in Chicago, Leo fell in love with the city and decided to move there in 2007. He has been living and working in the US ever since, while also working in projects in Argentina, Venezuela, México and Spain. In the US he directed: Running (2011), Quarters (2011) and Pizza Quest (2013).

    During 2012/2013 he was a Showrunner and associate creative director for the Television Series "La CQ", where he also co-directed several episodes. The Show was in production for a year and began broadcast in late 2012. Today the series is a ratings success story and is being broadcasted in all Latin American, Europe and the US.
