Diogo Tomaz was born in Portugal in 1992. He studied Theatre at the School of Arts and Design in Caldas da Rainha. He complemented his studies with programs at Pineapple Dance Studios in London, RESAD in Madrid, and The English College in Prague.
He began his professional career in 2013, at the age of 21, with The Dumb Waiter by Harold Pinter, and has since worked consistently in both theatre and film. In 2020, he co-founded Entrecenas and NEO Collective, two creative groups focused on politically engaged artistic work.
He completed his Master's degree in Theatre - Performing Arts at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema in 2023. That same year, he was awarded Best Actor at the Eurasia International Monthly Film Festival for his performance in the short film Eu & Eu (2021)Eu e Eu.
Diogo is known for his ultra-realistic style in drama and for his versatility across genres.
