Born in Aarhus, Denmark, Yusuf Othman is a Danish filmmaker and storyteller with deep roots in human-centered narratives. Othman is the child of Iraqi Turkmen war refugees-a background that profoundly influences his work. Drawing from personal experiences with PTSD, he channels complex emotions and lived realities into art, focusing on nuanced explorations of the human condition.
Yusuf is best known for writing Englemageren (2023), as well as writing and directing Jeg tror jeg elsker dig (2025) and Prayer (2026). Beyond film, he directed the critically noted video game Inauthentic Hummus (2024), further expanding his creative reach into interactive storytelling.
In addition to film and games, he has contributed to the Danish comedy scene, working with Adam & Noah on their highly successful tours-helping the duo sell over 100,000 tickets and amassing tens of millions of online views. With over a decade of experience in VFX for both motion pictures and games, he combines technical mastery with authentic storytelling, creating work that resonates across various mediums and audiences.
