Biography

Nina Bell is an actress and visual artist based in New York and Los Angeles. Known to the European stage as Nina Sablich Turkalj, Miss Bell grew up in the picturesque city of Zagreb, Croatia. Daughter of famous Croatian artist, Zorica Turkalj, Nina's childhood was filled with art, culture and traveling. Her favorite pastime was roller-skating over the cobble stone streets. Everyone would say 'Who's that skinny girl with big brown eyes & curly big hair skating everywhere?' That's how she was discovered...

She landed her first TV role at the age of six. After many lead roles in TV and theaters throughout Croatia and Europe, Nina decided it's time to come to California... she became an exchange student and graduated from high school in Sacramento, and soon enough, after graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, she landed a recurring role ( tailored specifically for her by Executive Producer John Wells ) as Dr. Horvath on TV drama ER, a few independent films, and recently, Bell guest starred in five episodes of the acclaimed TV series ZOS: Zone of Separation, working alongside such brilliant actors as Enrico Colantoni and Calm Meaney. For her portrayal of Lisa, in film Echoes, Nina won an award for the Best Actress in a Lead Role at the Geneva Film Festival. Once a year, at least, Bell visits her family in Zagreb and loves working on Croatian TV and exhibiting her art, whenever possible...

Currently, Bell is preparing her next solo exhibition "Passing Through", while perfecting her first mono drama "Holding On"...and just recently got cast in supporting roles in the upcoming feature films "Sons of Freedom" and "The Death of Angelique Vitry"
